Jesus Christ appeared to Saint Faustina Kowalska, a Polish nun beginning in 1931. He requested her to have an image painted of His appearance. This image is known as The Divine Mercy Image. Jesus has made a promise to everyone who venerates His Divine Mercy Image. The promise is as follows: "I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish. I also promise victory over [its] enemies already here on earth, especially at the hour of death. I Myself will defend it as My own glory." - Diary of Saint Faustina Kowalska, entry 48.
The original Divine Mercy Image is almost identical to The Shroud of Turin (The Burial Cloth of Jesus Christ - The most analyzed artifact in the world) when overlaid on the Image.

Some quotes from Jesus to Saint Faustina about His Divine Mercy Image :
"The two rays denote Blood and Water. The pale ray stands for the Water which makes souls righteous. The red ray stands for the Blood which is the life of souls. These two rays issued forth from the very depths of My tender mercy when My agonized heart was opened by a lance on the Cross. These rays shield souls from the wrath of My Father. Happy is the one who dwell in their shelter, for the just hand of God shall not lay hold of him." - The Diary of Saint Faustina Kowalska entry 299
"Not in the beauty of the color, nor of the brush, lies the greatness of this image, but in My grace." The Diary of Saint Faustina Kowalska entry 313
Jesus has requested that the first Sunday after Easter, be Divine Mercy Sunday a Sunday where His great Mercy is given and everyone can obtain complete forgiveness for their sins and remission of temporal punishment.
Here's what Jesus said to Saint Faustina about Divine Mercy Sunday, and what one must do to obtain the promises and graces :
"My daughter, tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and a shelter for all souls, especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day are opened all the divine floodgates through which graces flow. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity. Everything that exists has come from the very depths of My most tender mercy. Every soul in its relation to Me will contemplate My love and mercy throughout eternity. The Feast of Mercy emerged from My very depths of tenderness. It is My desire that it be solemnly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My mercy." - Diary of Saint Faustina Kowalska, entry 699
Me praying one year in front of The Divine Mercy Image on Divine Mercy Sunday.
On this Sunday, which will be Divine Mercy Sunday, (4/16) I encourage everyone to beseech Jesus for His mercy and to trust in Him. This is the best decision you can ever make. The only people that do not believe in Jesus Christ, are those who have simply not experienced Him. All you have to do is reach out to Him. He's there. He's got you. He died on the Cross to save you. He knows you. If you are reading this, it's not by coincidence. In God's plan, nothing is by coincidence. Jesus is reaching out to you and wants to save you. Don't be a fool, respond to Him, know Him, love Him, and trust in Him. For life on earth is fleeting, eternity lasts forever. Make the right decision, and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, truly I tell you; there is no other way. Ask Jesus to reveal Himself to you, He will. Implore His Mercy, ask for forgiveness, and begin again. Live in peace without any worries, and surrender everything to Him. He sees you. He's got you.
The Resurrection is real, it’s time to act like it.

April 13th is the feast day of Pope Saint Martin I
“Faith in the resurrection of Jesus says that there is a future for every human being; the cry for unending life which is a part of the person is indeed answered. God exists: that is the real message of Easter. Anyone who even begins to grasp what this means also knows what it means to be redeemed.” - Pope Benedict XVI
